Reason for Success of Ipod

September 3rd, 2010

Reason for Success of Ipod

Ipod has become famous among all age groups. Apple iPod has become the major need for all the funky and young kids. Guys who are in music profession will surely owe one of the different iPod or sometimes more than one.

The demand for iPod is increasing every day. Apple iPod has today become synonymous with the term MP3 player. Apple could analyze the lack of digital music player and launched a hard drive based Mp3 player in late 2001. This model was titled as Ipod which had classy and striking looks. The iPod earphones has its own identification and is always been blamed for majority of street robberies.

Even a normal iPod can store multiple music. It was an achievement from the beginning, but the truth that it was only Mac compatible held back sales slightly, although Apple did in fact see an augment in sales of Apple Macs due to populace wanting to be able to make use of the IPods.

In 2003, the sales boosted even high with the launch of new version of IPod i.e. with iTunes software, that was well-suited on both Macs and Windows PCs. Apple IPod enjoys 90% of the market were as normal MP3 player just shares 70% market as whole.

By launching several versions of MP3 players meeting all the technological advancements Apple has made themselves shine in the world. The latest models display photos and videos as well. Some also give the option to store official hard copy of the documents. iPod mini, iPod nano and iPod shuffle are the three most needed model among individuals. All the three meet the same purpose.

iPod Mini – Apple’s first iPod by-product was the iPod mini. This product was quite smaller but almost similar to the original one. This iPod was obtainable in many colors and was planned to target unusual market.

iPod Nano: in year 2005 apple made an decision to discontinue sales of IPod mini. This iPod mini was replaced by iPod nano. They are smaller than the mini players and feature colored screens. Apple has come under some censure though for the screens on the nano as many customers have criticized that they damage too easily.

iPod shuffle: The introduction of first flash drive based iPod began with iPod shuffle. The capacity of these iPod is very limited around 512 MB or 1 GB is available in the market. It doesn’t have any display screen. One can easily listen song through it in a random order or can set a playlist in iTunes.

The recently launched cars are intended with wharfing ports to make integrating iPods to the in car system easier. Trendy clothes are designed with a special pocket to hold the iPod. Well, other iPod with wonderful facilities are still available in the market but of-course not as fashionable as apple.

Review: R-Type for iPhone

September 3rd, 2010

I think my mouse was moving over the Purchase link in iTunes even before I really knew what was happening. The uber-classic side-scrolling shooter R-Type has finally been ported over to the iPhone! Geeks of a certain age range(which is not to say old mind you) all over the world are rising up out of their cobweb covered chairs to do the happy dance. I remember playing this insanely difficult favorite at the arcade when I was younger, that is when I could get my Mom to cough up some quarters, which she seemed to value almost as much as I did for some reason. She never was much of a gamer as far as I could tell, I mean what else was she going to use the quarters for, it’s not like they were money or anything. Sheesh.

R-Type is a classic side-scrolling shooter in which, like several side-scrollers from the 80’s gaming era, the player is given command a tiny little plane/ship/Big Wheel which also happens to possess the power of a couple of Death Stars and is upgradeable along the way. If God had a jet he flew around in smiting people, or planets, it would the R-9a ‘Arrowhead’. Lasers, bombs, seeking missles, you’ve got it all, not to mention these awesome little pod upgrades that can attach or detach from your ship to help you rain death and destruction down upon your enemies. Seriously, the amount of fire power you can dish out is stupid insane which might make you wonder why the game is so difficult.

Well, most things crumble when so much as spit on them, but there are a few hardened enemies running about that take licking and keep on ticking. Not only that, but you have to constantly dodge stray bullets and missles and avoid hitting the floor or ceiling of the strange floating deep space structure you find yourself fighting in. There are something like 8 levels and two difficulty settings, and trust me, as you progress, it just gets ugly.

The game looks and plays great on the iPhone. They’ve even thrown in the original music, which is totally rad dude. It’s a blast from the past and I feel like I’m 10 years old again waiting for some junior high punk to get out of the way so I can get my turn. There’s a couple of different control style choices: you can move and fight by tilting the iPhone, or chose to move about the screen with fingertip drags. In my opinion the fingertip method is the way to go as the tilt option seems to be way to sluggish. With either of those options you can chose to fire constantly and concentrate on directing your flying death across the levels while avoiding obstacles; I highly recommend this setting as well since it’s just one less thing you have to worry about. The fire button is still shown in the lower right corner of your screen so you can hold it down and charge your super weapon should you feel the need, but other than that there’s no need to bother with constantly tapping to destroy your enemies.

R-Type is .99 [iTunes link], and totally worth the price in just nostalgic value alone. Highly recommended!

The Natural Solution: Apple Cider Vinegar Benefits for Beauty

September 2nd, 2010

The Natural Solution: Apple Cider Vinegar Benefits for Beauty

Apple cider vinegar, sometimes referred to as cider vinegar or ACV, is made from cider or apple must. It has become very popular because of its many health benefits and beauty properties. Because of it high potassium content, it is best to consult with a health care professional before taking ACV. Although you can make your own apple cider vinegar, you can find it in a natural state at any health food store. Let’s explore some of the benefits of apple cider vinegar.

How to use apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar can promote healthier skin and hair as well as be beneficial for health. For more specific ways in which apple cider can help treat specific ailments, contact a nutritionist who will be better equipped to answer specific questions. For more general uses, you can try apple cider vinegar in some of the following ways.

Internal use

Research has shown that ACV can assist the body in its daily functions as well as fight off colds and influenza. It helps in digestion, lowers bad cholesterol, strengthens the heart, lowers blood pressure and stabilizes blood sugar. It also contains anti-oxidants that help fight some types of cancer. It can cure an upset stomach by drinking it as a daily tonic.

To make your own daily tonic, mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of water. Usually, one tablespoon of ACV and one tablespoon of honey in 8 ounces of warm or cold water would be a general guideline, but feel free to tweak this recipe depending on your personal preferences. There are also other ways to drink it. You could add it to apple juice or add a bit of fresh cinnamon to neutralize its taste (some coffee shops serve apple cider with a cinnamon stick).

External use

If your feet feel tired and ache, give them a bath. Put half a cup of apple cider vinegar in a tub of warm water. Wiggle your toes around and let your feet soak for a few minutes. A footbath is a great way to relax before heading off to bed.

If your body is too acidic, take a vinegar bath. To properly restore the acid to alkaline balance in your body, simply add 1 to 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to a warm bath. Soak your body for about 45 minutes. Aside from clearing your body from excess acid, a vinegar bath helps anyone with a dry or irritated skin make it feel soft.

If baths aren’t your thing, consider mixing one cup each of ACV and warm water in a spray bottle. After your shower, spray your entire body with the mixture. Wait a few minutes and rinse. Your whole body will feel refreshed.

Other benefits of apple cider vinegar include its topically use on different body parts, especially the face. For a deep cleansing steam face wash, add 3 tablespoons of ACV to a pan of boiled water and lean your face over it. Cover your head with a towel for a few minutes to allow the steam to open up your pores and loosen any impurities from your skin’s surface.

Commercial products on the market

Aside from the natural form of apple cider vinegar, many commercial products also exist. Such products include body washes and hair and facial products. Taking ACV in its natural state is just as beneficial if not better than these products.

A note of caution

Because apple cider vinegar is very acidic, never drink it straight. Always dilute it with water. After drinking ACV, you should rinse your mouth with water. Also, do not brush your teeth right away because it might grind the vinegar into your enamel. A great way to avoid ACV touching your teeth is to drink it with a straw. ACV tablets are a great alternative to the liquid, although they don’t work as fast. Also, avoid eye contact with apple cider vinegar as the acid will burn and redden the eyes

The benefits of apple cider vinegar seem endless. These simple methods and ways of using ACV are all great and inexpensive. More importantly, they have proven methods beneficial to your body and to the environment. As long as you use it carefully and for recognized, healthy purposes, apple cider vinegar benefits will continue to reveal themselves. Try it for yourself.
